Today, an ASE work seeker started with a trial placement at Castlerock, an IT
support company, in Cape Town. A work trial entails the placement of a work
seeker with a disability in a real work situation for a specific period of time.
During this period, ASE offers support and monitoring services to the work
seeker and the employer.
The benefits of a trial placement for an employer include:
 having an extra employee on hand without the expense of a salary, as
well as
 the opportunity to work alongside someone with a disability.
The work seeker benefits from getting real work exposure, and ASE gets the
opportunity to complete an important aspect of the work assessment, with a
positive impact on the subsequent matching of the work seeker with a
permanent job.
If your company is interested in offering a trial placement to a work seeker
with a disability, please contact Madri Engelbrecht at
